An 'FAQ' is a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" about a given topic. This FAQ being about the Modern Media Mob (MMMob) answers questions about what the MMMob is. |

What is the MMMob? |

A |
The Modern Media Mob is a users group / support group that brings together professionals and amateurs who work with media in all its myriad forms. Writers, programmers, rock musicians, videographers, educators, animators, graphic designers, etc. Open communication between MMMob members is the primary objective of group. We will provide to the members of the mob the names and contact information for all other members so each member can draw on the expertise of the other MMMob members. |

Is the MMMob like those other user groups that do little more than try to sell you products from whatever company supports them? |

No. The MMMob is not affiliated with any one company. We will from time to time have a representative come in from a particular company to tell us about their products but no more. |

The first Tuesday evening of every month at 7:00pm. |

Where does the MMMob meet? |

In the past the MMMob has met at either the University of Akron or the Parma campus of Tri-C. But starting in March 1999 we will be meeting at various different locations around the area. Resteruants, libraries, etc. Contact the MMMob at <mmmob@saturdaybang.com> for the next meeting location. This information will also be posted to the MMMob mailing list and the message board. |

What is the MMMob message board? |

The MMMob message board is a web based threaded discussion board. It is located at <http://www.saturdaybang.com/MMMob/bbs.html>. Meeting locations and topics will be posted there. Miscellaneous technical questions will also be answered. In general most anything is fodder for the board. Check it out and post something! |

They are messages posted to the MMMob mailing list. You are getting them because you are subscribed to that list. We initially added a number of people to the list ourselves to get the list started buy you or anyone else can subscribe or unsubscribe themselves. See question #10 for directions. |

What is the MMMob mailing list? |

The MMMob mailing list the primary means of communication between MMMob members. We use it to make general announcements about meetings, group related topics. The mailing list is also an interactive communication tool for MMMob members. All members are allowed to post items, questions, and answers to the list. |

How does MMMob membership cost? |

You can pay your dues two different ways. Yearly memberships are $25 per person. Students and recent graduates (within 1 year of graduation) are $15 per year. Alternately if you don't want to make that much of a commitment, you can pay $5 per meeting. As you can see, it's MUCH cheeper to get a years worth. |
